Where Love Takes Root

Moru means tree: a beautiful symbol of roots, strength, growth, shelter, and generations to come.

A tree begins with its roots. They represent where we come from: our families, our values, our faith, and the people who have shaped us. When two people choose to marry, they each bring their own roots with them, and from those two stories, something entirely new begins to grow.

The trunk represents the marriage itself, strong, steady, and deeply grounded. Like a tree, a marriage will move through different seasons, but with love, commitment, and faith at its centre, it can continue to grow stronger with time.

The branches represent the life that unfolds from that union: family, friendships, shared dreams, cherished memories and, one day, perhaps new generations who will carry the story forward.

And then there is the shade of the tree. In Africa, a great tree has always been a place where people gather.A place of rest, celebration, belonging, and connection. That is what we hope Moru will be: a place where families come together, where promises are made, where laughter is shared, and where some of life’s most precious memories begin.

Every wedding at Moru is more than a beautiful day. It is the planting of something new, two lives becoming one, two families joining together, and a new family tree beginning its own story.

Rooted in love. Strengthened by faith. Growing through every season. Remembered for generations.
